At Active Balance Pilates, your program is customized to support your body, your goals – every time you walk into the studio.
The Pilates Method supports all bodies, but we are all on a different continuum of body awareness, of learning, and of the gaps we need to fill. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of the Pilates Method and its inherent design to return bodies to health and optimal function. If you are looking to move out of pain, train your body to strengthen and feel good, you have come to the right place. At Active Balance Pilates, we integrate strength throughout the whole body and create movement experiences that build trust in your body, to go the distance, both inside the studio and out in your life.
The clients I work with have specific and personal goals they want to achieve. Pain is often a common motivator, even when it is not top of mind. Do you see yourself in any of these scenarios?
-
Knee or hip pain limiting your activity? Yes, healthy joints are an important marker of longevity. But the body works as a system. We look at how it’s working together, including how your core is supporting all of these activities.
-
Nagging back or neck pain? Our bodies are meant to move. Meaningful exercise informs more than muscles. Mindful movement brings harmony and balance to your body and brain, expanding your capacity for building strength and trust in your body. Pain is often cleared by unraveling and rebuilding the pattern. But pain is a curious thing. It is an output of the brain, and the unlearning process can be a puzzle we solve together.
-
Fear or doubt about reaching your goals? Together, we create your unshakeable foundation for movement. With care and guidance, your worries fade as you shift to moving with curiosity and awareness. Doubt is replaced with a new mindset of possibility and resilience.
I get it. Life has become a bit more complicated. Exercise is not just another thing for you to fill your day. It needs to have meaning for you, to move the needle in your well-being.
Pilates is more than its exercises. It is a system that has the power to restore how you move and build strength and control in a way that is both meaningful and powerful. What I have experienced numerous times with this Method is that no matter how challenging a movement may be, there is always a way to break it down and build it up to feel amazing.
If you want to move and inhabit your body in a new way, your training needs to be novel too. Pilates is as intelligent as it is adaptive. Your intentions and imagination create your outcome.
Classical Pilates is the Method that grounds our sessions. I also blend restorative and neuro-informed movement to guide our work together.

Exercise is essential to our health and well-being. Pilates not only builds strong muscles. It improves your circulatory, respiratory, and immune system. Joe Pilates created his method with the intention of returning the body to health. Healthy bodies are vibrant, balanced in muscle tone, and strong and resilient.
“If your spine is stiff at 30, you are old. If it is flexible at 60, you are young.” – Joseph H. Pilates
